Trail
Information:
Chase Palm ParkThe 10 km route walks out and back along the Pacific Ocean  -- West Beach, Palm Chase Park, Stearns Wharf, and East Beach.  It is along flat, paved surfaces, hence it earns an AVA rating of "1."  It is suitable for strollers and wheelchairs.  As of January 1, 2002, the walk is enhanced by an optional 5km excursion.  It heads north past the shops and cafes of State Street, turns back at the Arlington Theater, and then returns along the other side of the street.  This is perfect for folks who like a longer walk -- also for folks who are hungry or who like to mix shopping with their walking.  One of our 2001 walkers, Jane Holmes of the Emerald City Walkers, wrote about her experience on the 10 km route in her club's newsletter.  To read her comments and to see the pictures she took, click here.
